Link Temporary Chains

Connects different Temp ctrls chain setups. Select any bone on a chain, then select any bone on the parent chain and press Link. The parent chain will be the chain with the active bone. This allows a basic modular rigging, while keeping the animation on the original rig intact.

While linking works per chain, when linking Temp IK, it is possible to link the IK Ctrl and the Pole Target separatly.

Link to Active Chain - Tip or Base option will either link the chain to the last or first bone in the hierarchy of the parent chain. Base will link to the Begining of the chain (Top Parent) and tip will link to the end of hierarchy (Last child).

Unlink Temp Chains - will disconnect the selected chain and it will be in worldspace again.

Example

Using Temp IK for the leg and a World Space Control for the toe, despite being a connected bone (which initially only affected toe rotation).
After linking the IK control to the toe's Temp Control:

  • The World Space Control drives the IK from the toes.
  • World Space orientation enables direct Z-axis control for precise ground contact adjustments

Example

Adding World Space Cursor pivot control, and linking Temp IK to it, is adding a new pivot to the Temp IK
